On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Peace Accords the University of Primorska and the University Sarajevo organized in November 2005 a broadly attended international conference sponsored by the Slevene Presidency of the OSCE and the Central European Initiative. This was the only scientific conference on that topic organized in Sarajevo. Leading politicians and researchers from the field of political geography, history, law, sociology, economy and anthropology have been invited to deliver manuscripts focusing on the problems of and solutions fort he Western Balkans. In view of the many different aspects and topics related to the region of the Western Balkans, the editors have tried to bundle papers with similar contents into four chapters. On several occasions the decision where to place an article was a difficult one. But, having in mind the focus of the book, where the disastrous past and the promising future should be referred to, following chapters came to Existence:
.The chapter on Political restructuring: development and issues
.War images on the road to Dayton
.The next chapter focuses on the Western Balkans Conflict resolution perspectives and post-Dayton adaptations
.The view of the last chapter is directed towards the future. Under Co-operation and re-integration outlooks
