PUBLICATION FEES

Please note: One author’s sheet is defined as 24,000 characters without spaces. This definition applies to all mentions of “author’s sheet” throughout this price list.

COMPREHENSIVE PRODUCTION EDITING IN MONOGRAPHS

Flat-rate comprehensive production editing fee

Amounts to 15% of the author’s compensation for original copyright work, valued at 400.00 EUR per author’s sheet (the starting compensation for authors of original copyright works under the 2013 Call for Cultural Projects in the Field of Books: JR5–KNJIGA–2013 is minimum 365.00 EUR gross per author’s sheet)

PRODUCTION EDITING IN PROJECT OUTPUTS

When a project involves the production of a printed publication with research outcomes and the call for proposals permits it, the project budget may allocate funds for a production editor. The amount is determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the publication’s scope and complexity.

BASIC PRODUCTION EDITING

Includes receipt and handling of original copyright work submitted by author/editors, counselling on formatting and technical specifications, creating the copyright page, obtaining CIP, forwarding material to layout and typesetting, managing proofreader corrections, corresponding with authors/editors, delivering press-ready files to the designated printer.

Covers individual services within the production editing and publishing processes requested by the client. The amount is determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the scope and complexity of the services.

PRODUCTION EDITING IN PEER-REVIEWED PERIODICAL PUBLICATIONS

For peer-reviewed periodical publications, the publication fees include the comprehensive production editing fee (60.00 EUR/author’s sheet) plus the peer-review processing fee (100.00 EUR/author’s sheet).

The peer-review process comprises: identifying suitable reviewers for each submission; managing communication and document exchange with reviewers; overseeing the review process; coordinating the reviewer’s feedback with the editorial board; communicating review outcomes and required revisions to authors; finalising the process by accepting or rejecting a submission; and archiving the reviews.
