The publishing activity of ANNALES ZRS is based on the traditional approach of developing intellectual property and, consequently, on expanding the academic and didactic production of the scientific community. With its successful operation and recognized publishing brand, under which scientific and professional monographs, scientific journals, proceedings of domestic and international meetings and various informative materials are published, it significantly contributes to the reputation of the Slovenian scientific and academic sphere.
With its editorial activity, the ANNALES ZRS Publishing House enables the publication of the results of scientific research work of researchers from the home, other domestic and foreign research organizations, and thus enables their appropriate publication and indexing in relevant international databases. It contributes to the development and implementation of (new) scientific terminology and the popularization of their achievements in the scientific, professional and general public.
With its extensive annual editorial production, the publishing house provides individual authors with the full technical, editorial and administrative support necessary for the publication of high-quality scientific works in serial publications and monographs.
The publishing house uses the upgraded OJS online editorial platform to publish two scientific journals, Annales Kinesiologiae and Poligrafi, and the OMP platform to publish monographs (scientific and professional) in open access. It provides registration of permanent digital identifiers (DOIs) at the article level. Since 2019, the scientific journal Poligrafi has also been included in the international citation database Scopus.
The basic focus of ANNALES ZRS is interdisciplinary work, comparative and cross-cultural studies, and a focus on the multicultural space, the Mediterranean region, and also the European space.
It publishes a wide range of publications (mainly scientific, but also professional-scientific and professional) from various scientific fields, especially history, sociology, ethnic studies, linguistics and literature, geography, cultural heritage, philosophy and religiology, kinesiology, pedagogy, Mediterranean agriculture and olive growing, and biodiversity.
Mission and vision
The mission and main goal of the publishing house is to publish new relevant studies by prominent Slovenian and international researchers.
Our goal is to increase our presence and visibility on the market, both from the perspective of publishing activities and book sales. In addition, we want to provide employees of the parent institution as well as researchers from other research institutions with the opportunity to publish quality publications in print and electronic form, thus enabling the recognition and popularization of scientific research and applied achievements of domestic researchers in Slovenia and the world.
