Biography:
Liliana Vižintin graduated in natural sciences at the University of Trieste, Italy, with the highest distinction. As young researcher, she continued her studies at the Biotechnical faculty, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, where in 2003 she obtained a MSc in biotechnology with the thesis Methods for in vitro maturation and germination of cucumber pollen (Cucumis sativus L.) and in 2005 a PhD in biotechnology with the thesis Study of genetic variability of the genera Trifolium and Luzula with karyotypization, determination of genome size and molecular markers.
She attended a professional training in Innovation Management in Area Science Park Trieste (Italy). Furthermore, she has attender different trainings programs of Climate-KIC. She was involved in numerous national and international projects.
Within MIES, her researches are oriented mainly on topics related to biology, biotechnology, environmental sciences, education for sustainable development (ESD).
She has published numerous original scientific, professional articles and conference papers. Furthermore, she has been a mentor of many diploma theses. Her personal bibliography currently includes about 80 items.
