ARIS Code: J5-4582

Project duration: 1. 10. 2022–30. 9. 2025

Project leader: dr. Rado Bohinc

Participating institute at ZRS KoperLaw Institute

There are many definitions of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). It overlaps with concepts such as corporate citizenship, business ethics, stakeholder management, sustainable development, corporate social performance, balance, and accountability. A broad definition of the term includes fulfilling the economic, legal, ethical, and philanthropic responsibilities of companies that, through their strategy and operational practices, impact the involved stakeholders and the natural environment.

With this project, we will contribute to the development of legal science and establish new directions in the development of corporate law, especially in areas arising from the demands of sustainable development, which encompasses not only environmental but also social aspects. This includes CSR as one of the legal mechanisms to address the growing income inequality in the world. The contribution to the development of legal science will be a methodologically consistent comparative evaluation of CSR legal regulations and the (re)shaping of corporate law institutes related to CSR.
