Inštitut za filozofske in religijske študije

The Institute for Philosophical and Religious Studies is among the leading institutes for humanities in Slovenia.

With its focus on contemporary philosophy, social and environmental ethics, comparative religion, digital theology, and feminist studies, it offers a variety of possibilities for cooperation across philosophical and theological fields. Additionally, within the scope of the institute’s work the fields of intercultural philosophy and interreligious dialogue are very well developed, combining researchers working on Christian, Muslim, Indian, and Chinese philosophies and religions, as well as syncretistic and new religious movements.

The institute has members from Slovenia, the Netherlands, Finland, Italy, and the USA, and is thus strongly internationally oriented. Alongside its basic research, the institute organises academic conferences and round tables. Our most recent focus on digital humanities and the ethics of artificial intelligence offers possibilities for cooperation with various stakeholders in this field.
