Project Code (ARIS Reference Number): J7-60133

Project Duration: 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2027

Project Leader: Gorazd Andrejč, PhD

Lead Institution: Institute for Philosophical and Religious Studies

The scientist and inventor Nikola Tesla (1856–1943) was not only a creative pioneer in electrical and mechanical engineering, but also in sustainable energy efficiency and energy justice. Drawing on scientifically grounded, technological-futurist and environmental perspectives, he brought his reflections on these issues together in a unified philosophical vision encompassing ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of technology, philosophy of religion, philosophy of nature, and more.
In his writings, particularly The Problem of Increasing Human Energy (1900), Tesla proposed comprehensive solutions to the challenges of energy efficiency, production, transmission, sustainability and storage, as well as energy justice. These are precisely the issues that are the subject of intense contemporary debate, closely intertwined with the green transition.
