Institute for Oliveculture Hosts Participants of Summer School on Multi-scale Drought Monitoring and Irrigation Scheduling

As part of the Life4Adapt project, we hosted participants of the international summer school “CEEPUS Summer School: Multi-scale Drought Monitoring and Irrigation Scheduling” at the Institute for Oliveculture of ZRS Koper. The summer school was co-organised with the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana and other partners.

During the field visit to our experimental olive orchard, we presented advanced agronomic approaches to experts and students. We demonstrated the practical use of soil moisture sensors, plant water potential measurements, and photosynthesis measuring equipment. These real-time measurements enable us to adjust irrigation rates accordingly. In this way, we can directly optimise olive irrigation, use water more efficiently, and help plants successfully cope with drought stress.
