As part of the 4PETHABECO Project (Strengthening Cooperation to Address Socio-Environmental Challenges of the EUSAIR Flagship Initiative PET HAB ECO, Interreg IPA ADRION 2021–2027, Project No. IPA-ADRION00367), the Mediterranean Institute for Environmental Studies at ZRS Koper invites you to participate in a series of Living Labs focused on coexistence with large carnivores. During these events, which will begin in the second half of May, participants will explore the challenges as well as successful approaches to coexistence with large and medium-sized carnivores such as the wolf, bear, lynx, and golden jackal.
Through workshops and field excursions, participants will gain insight into various aspects of human–carnivore coexistence and the importance of awareness-raising and education about these species. Working together with mentors and fellow participants, you will co-create new ideas, innovations, and prototypes, thereby contributing to improved coexistence and the conservation of important habitats.
The Living Labs will take place in Koper and in field locations. Participation is free of charge and voluntary, and the events are open to anyone interested in the topic who would like to actively contribute their ideas and knowledge to addressing these challenges. We welcome a wide range of stakeholders, including teachers, students, tourism professionals, protected area managers, conservationists, farmers, hunters, foresters, and others.
The provisional programme is presented in the invitation, which also includes a link to the registration form.
Applications are open until 15 May.
