ZRS Koper acquires two new international projects in the field of social sciences

The Science and Research Centre in Koper (ZRS) is proud to announce the acquisition of two new international projects in the field of social sciences – N.E.A.R. to Guardians, the aim of which is to strengthen networking, exchange good practices and knowledge among various relevant stakeholders across the EU in the field of guardianship of unaccompanied minors, and HUMAN, which will raise awareness through various activities on preventing hate speech directed towards diasporas in partner countries.

The key objective of the N.E.A.R. to Guardians project (Networking and Exchange Activities to Reinforce Guardianship on Housing, Labour and Education; No. 101140815) is to ensure full access to basic rights and strengthen the potential of unaccompanied minors in participating partner countries, with a focus on key areas of integration, such as accommodation and inclusion in education and employment. The project, valued at EUR 191,801.78, will run from 1 March 2024 to 31 August 2026. The project leader on the side of ZRS Koper is Dr Ksenija Perković from the Institute for Social Sciences at ZRS Koper. The leading partner of the project is the Save The Children Italia Onlus Associazione, while other partners include ZRS Koper, Metadrasi Drasi Gia Thn Metanasteysi Kai Thn Anatpiksi (Greece), Fundacio Privada Per A La Recerca I La Docencia Sant Joan De Deu (Spain), Sant Joan De Déu Terres De Lleida (Spain), and the European Social Network (Belgium).

The activities of the HUMAN project (Digital Hate Interrupter Activism to combat structural racism promoting inter-community cooperation through digital technologies; No. 101144478) are based on education and digital practices that promote inter-community activism and positive changes in the attitudes and behaviours of young people. The project, valued at EUR 94,466.00, will take place from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2026. The project leader on the side of ZRS Koper is Dr Blaž Lenarčič from the Institute for Social Sciences. The leading partner of the project is To Hamogelo tou Paidiou (Greece), while other partners include ZRS Koper, Rinova Malaga SL (Spain), Stiftelsen Kursverksamheten Vid U-A Universitet (Sweden), CSI Center for Social Innovation LTD (Cyprus), Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (Portugal), Associazione Culturale MuLab (Italy), European Antibullying Network (Belgium), and the Dypall Network: Associação Para O Desenvolvimento da Participação Cidadã (Portugal).
