We are pleased to announce the second spring event in the SPOZNAJ – Relaxed Conversations about Science series: Social innovation as a driver of sustainable development, which will take place on 9 April 2026 in the small hall of Koper Theatre.
Social innovations emerge where we least expect them – at the intersection of science, community, and creativity – reshaping the ways in which we address shared challenges.
Join us for a relaxed discussion in which we will explore, from different perspectives, when ideas become transformative and how social innovation can be placed at the centre of development.
The following guests will participate in this edition of the event:
- Renata Zamida, Director of Center Rog;
- Dr Polonca Lovšin, artist and architect, associate professor at the University of Primorska Faculty of Education, and one of the initiators of the community garden project Onkraj gradbišča (“Beyond the Construction Site”);
- Jan Peloza, Director of Impact Hub Slovenia, the first accelerator for social and impact enterprises in Slovenia, and President of the Cooperative Competence Centre for Social Innovation;
- Borut Jerman, President of the cultural and educational association PiNA.
The discussion will be moderated by Dr Jerneja Penca, Head of the Mediterranean Institute for Environmental Studies at ZRS Koper.
Registrations are open via email at "> until 8 April 2026.
The event is free of charge.
You are warmly invited to attend!
