Kick-off Meeting and Press Conference of the SI-N-CRO Project in Koper

On 1 March 2026, the two-year international project SI-N-CRO – Innovative Approaches in Stroke Rehabilitation Slovenia-Croatia (Project No.: SIHR00820) officially began. The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund within the Interreg Slovenia–Croatia 2021–2027 programme.

As the project coordinator, the Science and Research Centre (SRC) Koper hosted the kick-off meeting on Thursday, 19 March 2026. During the meeting, project partners agreed on the further course of project activities, organizational implementation, timeline, and the specific tasks of each partner. In addition to ZRS Koper, the consortium consists of General Hospital Izola, General Hospital Pula, and the Special Hospital “Martin Horvat” Rovinj.

The objective of the project is to ensure improved and harmonized healthcare services in the cross-border area of the Coastal–Karst region and the Istrian County. The partners will upgrade the existing network of public healthcare institutions and ensure the development and long-term implementation of an innovative joint action plan for improved and harmonized post-stroke rehabilitation. Achieving the project’s objectives will reduce disparities in access to optimal rehabilitation in the targeted cross-border area. Within the project, partners will upgrade medical equipment by establishing so-called “smart rooms” and will develop modern rehabilitation approaches and training programmes for healthcare professionals.

Following the kick-off meeting, a press conference was held, where all project partners presented the objectives, activities, and expected results of the SI-N-CRO project.
