Invitation to the: Cross-border Conference on the Needs and Good Practices of Multilingualism in Public Administration of the CrossTerm Project

On Wednesday, 23 October 2024, at 9:30 a.m. the Centre for Humanities of the Science Research Centre Koper (Kreljeva 6) will host a Cross-border Conference on the Needs and Good Practices of Multilingual Operations in Public Administration. This event is part of the CrossTerm – Cross-Border Standardisation of Institutional Terminology project, which aims to contribute to the achievement of terminological standardisation of administrative and legal translations at cross-border level and is co-financed by the European Union within the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia programme (CrossTerm – Cross-Border Standardisation of Institutional Terminology, Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia-SI00600194).

The aim of the conference is to address the challenges and exchange good practices in managing multilingualism in public institutions in the border areas between Italy and Slovenia. Experts and representatives from Italian and Slovenian institutions will speak at the conference, and who will focus on linguistic contexts and the analysis of needs identified through focus groups conducted within the project.

The meeting, which will include interpretation services, will be an opportunity to compare different administrative realities operating in multilingual contexts.
