International conference of the Slovenian Philosophical Society and public consultation entitled “Violence and Interpretation”

The Slovenian Philosophical Society, in cooperation with the Institute for Philosophical and Religious Studies of the Science and Research Centre Koper, the AMEU-ISH (Alma Mater Europaea, Institutum Studiorum Humanitatis) and the Ljubljana City Library, is organising the third international conference of the Slovenian Philosophical Society and public consultation entitled “Violence and Interpretation”.

Similar to previous years, numerous prominent humanists and social scientists from Slovenia and abroad will present themselves to the public. An exhibition of artworks will also take place in the framework of the event.

The theme of this year’s event, while a little more open, is highly relevant, which is all the more the case in the face of rapid changes in the society.

The central part of the international conference and discussion will take place on Friday, 9 February 2024, starting at 9.30 am in the conference hall of the Oton Župančič Library in Ljubljana. The event on Saturday, as is tradition, will be marked by student contributions and will take place in the premises of AMEU-ISH, Dunajska 158, Ljubljana. Conference events can be attended free of charge.

Among other speakers, the event will feature Noreen Herzfeld, Ciprian Bogdan, Milan Đorđević, Vojko Strahovnik, Boris Vezjak, Bojan Žalec, Oana Șerban, Mojca Ramšak, Marija Todoroska, Helena Motoh, Luka Martin Tomažič, Anja Hellmuth Kramberger, Luka Trebežnik and Gašper Pirc.
