The Director of the Science and Research Centre Koper, Prof. Dr Rado Pišot, attended the ceremonial signing of contracts for projects selected under the call for standard projects within the Interreg Slovenia–Croatia 2021–2027 programme on Monday, 2 March 2026.
The ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development of the Republic of Slovenia, which acts as the Managing Authority of the programme.
The event began with welcome speeches by representatives of the ministries of both countries, and representatives of the authorities responsible for the implementation of European cohesion funds. As part of the official programme, Dr. Pišot signed the agreement for the SI-N-CRO project, in which ZRS Koper participates as the lead partner of a consortium consisting of the following institutions:
- General Hospital Izola,
- General Hospital Pula,
- Special Hospital “Martin Horvat” Rovinj.
Main activities of the SI-N-CRO project
The project focuses on strengthening cross-border cooperation in the field of medical rehabilitation and includes the following key activities:
- upgrading equipment and establishing smart rooms,
- training healthcare staff in state-of-the-art rehabilitation approaches,
- evaluation and upgrading of existing projects (MEMORI-net, X-BRAIN.net),
- development of bilingual protocols and a new strategic plan,
- pilot testing of solutions on both sides of the border.
By participating in the ceremony, ZRS Koper once again confirmed its active role in cross-border cooperation and its commitment to the continued development of research, development, and innovation initiatives in the Slovenia–Croatia area.
