As part of the international SIS-Hubs project (Sorority, Integration and Support for women and girls through community-based programmes, AMIF-2024-TF2-AG-THB, project no.: 101198346), three educational workshops were held in June at the Science and Research Center (ZRS) Koper, for professionals working in the fields of social welfare, education, law, healthcare, and psychology. The events were particularly relevant for individuals who are in direct contact with immigrant women, vulnerable groups, and/or people who have experienced violence.
The workshops were organized by the Institute for Social Studies at ZRS Koper, and their purpose was to strengthen the network of support services where people can seek information or assistance, and above all, to address work with potentially vulnerable groups in an interdisciplinary and sensitive manner.
The workshops took place both in person and via Zoom, and were attended by staff from various institutions: The Government Office for the Support and Integration of Migrants, Social work centers, Elementary schools, Crisis centers, Slovene Philanthropy, the Municipality of Postojna, and other relevant institutions.
As the project’s main activity, a consultation center will also be established this fall, where thematic networking events will take place.
