ZRS Koper as part of the Refuscus Mundi Festival in Izola

On 7 February 2026, the Institute for Viticulture and Enology and the Institute for Oliveculture of the Science and Research Centre Koper presented their work at the Refuscus Mundi festival – Red Wines of the Northern Adriatic. The event took place at the well-known venue in the centre of Izola, in the premises of the Manzioli Palace.

The two institutes jointly presented a connecting theme focused on substances that have beneficial effects on human health. Visitors were able to learn more about the content of antioxidants, the processes of their formation, and research findings confirming their positive health effects.

In addition to theoretical content, participants had the opportunity to:

  • taste olive oils from Slovenian Istria,
  • learn techniques for proper olive oil tasting,
  • sample different types of preserved olives, and
  • gain in-depth insights into modern oliveculture and olive oil production.

Through their presentation, both institutes represented the academic dimension of their fields and supported visitors’ research curiosity by answering expert questions and engaging in professional discussion.
