The AI-GRAPE project will be presented at the international olive oil fair Olio Capitale in Trieste. The fair annually brings together producers, researchers, and experts in the field of olive growing. As part of the project, a professional event will be held on March 14, 2026, at 10:00, dedicated to current challenges in olive cultivation and innovative approaches to managing olive groves in the context of climate change.
The event, titled “Olive Protection in the Context of Climate Change and Innovative Solutions for Agronomic Management: Strategies, technologies, and artificial intelligence for protecting yield, quality, and productivity – experiences from the AI-GRAPE and OLIVETO-SMART Projects”, will focus on the use of digital technologies, predictive models, and artificial intelligence to improve olive protection and optimize agronomic practices while maintain a stable production, quality, and productivity. Representatives of research institutions, professional organizations, and project partners will present current research and practical applications of new technological solutions. Among the speakers will also be Jakob Fantinič and Dr. Maja Podgornik from the Institute of oliveculture at ZRS Koper.
Special attention will be given to the experiences of the AI-GRAPE and OLIVETO-SMART projects, which develop innovative digital approaches for monitoring plant health, supporting decision-making, and ensuring the sustainable management of olive groves in cross-border areas.
Registration is required to attend the event HERE (participants will receive a digital ticket via email), and entry is free of charge.
