Biography:


Saša Volk graduated in 2006 at the Faculty of Biotechnology, University of Ljubljana, Department of Food Science, with a graduation degree "Determination of selenium in fish and fish products on the Slovenian market". Since 2013, she has been employed at the accredited Laboratory of the Institute for Oliveculture, ZRS Koper as Independent professional Associate.
Her areas of work are: maintaining of quality system in an accredited laboratory, performing analyzes for the needs of an accredited activity, performing analyzes for the needs of professional tasks in the field of oliveculture, working on research projects, determining the quality and authenticity of olive oil, professional assistance in performing all laboratory work. Participates in the organization and preparation of the events of the Institute for Oliveculture.
Prior to her current employment, she was employed at LABS d.o.o., Institute of Ecology, Olive Oil and Control, as a chemical analyst in the field of oliveculture since 2006. She was authorized to carry out internal controls for Extra Virgin Olive Oil with a protected designation of origin and was responsible for fire safety. In 2008, she obtained the status of internal assessor for the establishment and maintenance of a quality system in an accredited laboratory according to the standard SIST EN ISO/IEC 17025. In 2013, she was elected to the title of assistant. Until 2017, she was employed at the University of Primorska SRC Laboratory for Olive Oil Testing as Independent professional Associate and as a chemical analyst in the field of olive oil for accredited methods and as an internal assessor of the quality system.
