Borut Klabjan is Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence and Principal Research Associate at the Science and Research Centre in Koper. He graduated from the University of Trieste and received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Ljubljana. He enhanced his studies at universities in Bratislava, Prague and Venice. In 2011 he was Humboldt Fellow at the Institute for South-East Europe of the Humboldt University in Berlin and in 2014 at the Institute for East and Southeast European Studies in Regensburg. He participates in several international projects and is the author of two monographs, editor and co-author of five multilingual volumes, and the author of numerous articles dealing with themes of political, diplomatic and cultural history, memory, border and minorities issues in nineteenth and twentieth century Europe with special emphasis on the northern Adriatic area and Central Europe.
