Biography:

Erik Kralj completed bachelor studies of Geography at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana in 2018. He then continued his studies and obtained master's degree in Geography. The title of his master's thesis was »Ecological factors affecting the occurrence of the ash dieback (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus) in Slovenia« and dealt with modelling of ash dieback in Slovenia. In 2022 he joined Mediterranean Institute for Environmental Studies as a young researcher under the mentorship of Cécil Muelenberg, PhD. He is attending his doctoral studies of Geography at Faculty of Arts in Maribor. As part of an EU-funded project SCORE (Smart Control of the Climate Resilience in European Coastal Cities) he is researching nature-based solutions for building climate resilience of Piran.
