Biography:

Matej Mertik is associate professor and head of the Web and information technologies programmes at Alma Mater Europaea-ECM. He received his PhD in computer science at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (FERI) at University of Maribor. His research is focused on artificial intelligence, data mining and software development gained from his research experiences in France, Finland, Norway, New Zealand and Switzerland. He has hold a distinguished research position of Scientific Associate at CERN (European Organization for nuclear research) at Machine Protection and Electrical Integrity Group, Technology Department TE-MPE-EE (2014-2016) and a position of Visiting Scientist at CERN (2017), where he developed data analysis and mining software for LHC hardware comissioning (Large Hadron Collider).
