Centre for Information and Infrastructural Research Support is an organisational unit that provides infrastructure support to all research groups of the ZRS Koper. The unit combines the elements of the information centre, the INDOC Centre, the administrative support for the infrastructure projects of the ZRS Koper, and in substance it also helps the instrumental support at field research. In its work, the unit regularly cooperates with other infrastructure units. Their most crucial work is participating in the field of information support for the regular research work, as well as in the course of obtaining and implementing various research projects both on national and international level. Within its INDOC Centre, CIIRS ensures the full inclusion of the parent research units in national and international scientific and research records, and in recent years it ensures the compliance of ZRS Koper with the principles of the National Strategy for Open Access to Scientific Publications and Research Data in Slovenia 2015-2020, it provides assistance in the preparation of RDMP and in archiving research data.
Due to the highly multidisciplinary nature of the research work of all the research groups of the ZRS Koper, the infrastructure support to be provided by CIIRS comprises a wide range of services at all stages of the research process, from basic and effective access to the World Wide Web, obtaining the necessary research data both in laboratories and in the field as well as in remote locations, processing the collected data and materials with appropriate software and hardware, tailored for the needs of specific research, and it is also important for storage / archiving information. The instrumental unit provides infrastructure support, especially in field research in the context of material and intangible heritage.
