Programme Design of the Journal ACTA HISTRIAE

The programme design of the journal ACTA HISTRIAE is to publish reviewed scientific papers with humanistic contents, in particular from the field of historiography and with special emphasis on contemporary methodological approaches, as well as thematic areas that are given less scientific attention.

The publication above all focuses on the contact area between the Mediterranean and the Central Europe, bringing to the forefront subjects from the Slovenian cultural area as well as contents that are interrelated with Mediterranean countries through interdisciplinary and comparative investigations. Thus, both at the methodological level and its territorial orientation, the publication covers a so-far fairly deficit area within the national Slovenian scientific and professional press, i.e. a part of common Slovenian territory. Its holistic investigation of the Slovenian cultural area in Primorska therefore also covers the characteristic multiculturality of the littoral region.

The papers are published in Slovenian, Croatian, Italian and English, as well as other world languages. The authors are established Slovenian and foreign historians who with various methodological approaches work in the fields of social, economic, cultural, political, anthropological and demographic history.

The papers are reviewed by at least two prominent reviewers. They include longer abstracts in English or in some other international language, while foreign-language papers include longer abstracts in Slovenian. All papers also contain brief extracts in the original language and in one world language (Italian or English).

Discussions are followed by issues of materials, reviews of most recent publications and reports on significant scientific and professional events relating to the contents determined by the title of the subject-matter, i.e. according to priorities and through a systematic follow-up of the latest developments.
